The Early Years unit at Birchwood comprises of one class.

Our early years teachers are Mrs Wainer and Mrs Lamb.

This term in foundation stage the children have been learning about the North Pole and the cold weather brrrrriliant!!!

Year two at Birchwood comprises of one class.

Our year two teacher is Miss Thurkettle. 

Year two's teaching assistant is Mrs Smith.

In PE this term year two have been basing their dance on the sea and shore. Here they have looked really closely at the patterns and shapes found in shells on the beach. They made a really super effort, in pairs,to copy these difficult shapes. Can you spot these shells next time you go to the beach?

Year three's teaching assistant is Mr Wall. 

Year three hva taken part in the 'Big School's Birdwatch'. From their classroom window the children have been on the look out, check out the display in the hall to see what they discovered.

In Topic the children have been looking at rivers, they will be shortly going on a visit to the river Orwell.

In Literacy the children have been writing poems in the style of 'The Owl and the Pussycat' by Edward Lear. Why not come and see this colourful display in our School hall?

Year six at Birchwood comprises of one class. Our year six teacher is Mrs Woods. Year six's teaching assistant is Mrs Doman.

In year 6 we have been learning and researching about ST LUCIA! As our homework we had to do a newspaper report on St lucia and people's lives there, as shown in the photo.
